We absolutely loved this place!

We loved the location of the Karmen Apartments. Our room was spacious and clean. Mark met us at the gate and led us to the building. He was a wealth of information as far as places to eat and drink. Our bed was comfortable. We even had a small kitchen area although we never cooked. We stayed 3 nights and then moved to a room on the 1st floor fioor our 4th night. That room was equally as nice as the first one. I loved being in the old city as compared to staying outside the city walls. I would definitely stay here again.
Gorgeous, quirky hidden gem...

Let me preface this by saying - these wonderful apartments are not for everyone. Quirky, individual, historical, charming and off-beat - if you adore character, you will love staying here. Marc is a terrific host - nothing is too much trouble; be it additional pillows, kitchen utensils or recommendations throughout the city. Each apartment has been carefully constructed within a lovely stone house and is in the heart of the harbour; ideally placed near restaurants and close to the market, beach and is surprisingly quiet given the influx of visitors.
Great host, great location...

Marc is a wonderful host and really knows how to get the balance right between being there when to need him and leaving you to enjoy your break . Genuine nice guy with wonderful stories about Dubrovnik and his life . Marc’s apartments are perfectly situated right by the harbour but apartment 2 was quiet and relaxing . Have to say I love the interesting decoration and quirky look .... if you are looking for minimalism this is not for you ! When we return to Dubrovnik will definitely stay again ! Thanks Marc
An oasis of calm and charm

From first contact through to departure Marc was a wonderful host. It looked and sounded great and fully lived up to our expectations. It is individual and unique and is clearly part of a family home, and immediately made us feel at home in the beautiful old town. The apartment is tucked away in a side street very close to the harbour and within easy reach of all the main attractions whilst at the same time feeling off the beaten track and a haven away from the crowds.
Sensational apartment

A gem in all respects. Great location. You only have to go up 12 steps to reach the front door, not 200 for some of the other apartments available for rent in the old town. This is adjacent to the wall by the old port, slightly off the beaten track, yet with easy access to everything. Charmingly decorated with folk art and historical photos. Marc is an ebullient host with an extraordinary life story and in depth knowledge of Dubrovnik past and present. Thank you, Marc!
